Nevada Gold Claims for Sale
Nevada is the largest gold-producing state in the United States and one of the top five gold-producing jurisdictions in the world. The Nevada gold belt running through Elko, Eureka, and Lander counties contains world-class deposits, and the surrounding smaller districts offer genuine opportunity for small operators and individual prospectors.
Geology
Nevada gold is dominated by Carlin-type sediment-hosted gold deposits, where microscopic gold is disseminated in decarbonated limestone and dolomite. Epithermal vein systems in the western and southern Great Basin represent a second major deposit type. The Battle Mountain-Eureka mineral belt and the Walker Lane structural zone are the two primary metallogenic corridors.
Mining Districts
Significant producing districts include the Carlin Trend in Elko and Eureka counties, the Battle Mountain district in Lander County, the Comstock Lode in Storey County, the Round Mountain district in Nye County, and the Jarbidge district in Elko County. The Comstock produced more than 6 million troy ounces of gold and silver equivalent.
BLM and Land Access
The BLM Nevada State Office manages more than 48 million acres across the state, making Nevada one of the most BLM-dominant states for mining access. The Elko District Office, Battle Mountain District Office, and Winnemucca District Office cover the core gold-producing corridors. Nevada has a well-established mining claim recording system through county assessors.
Season and Access
Most of Nevada is accessible year-round at basin elevations, though summer temperatures in excess of 100 degrees limit July and August work in the lowland desert districts. Higher elevation districts in the Ruby Mountains and Jarbidge country have seasonal limitations. Desert placer work is best conducted October through May.
